
Penticton Heavy Equipment Training School - HEO or the heavy equipment operator courses would provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to be able to enter the workforce as an entry level heavy equipment operator. In this twelve week course plus a practicum, you will focus on jobsite fundamentals like for example: environmental, safety and health awareness and training, machinery operation and maintenance, and use of earth moving techniques in hands-on situations.
Operator training will help those work with their chosen heavy machinery like a compactor, grader, loader, an excavator and a dozer. The needed skills that an operator will need to work with heavy machinery comprises: excellent problem solving skills, good oral communication skills, good spatial ability and good vision, physical strength and stamina, the ability to work well with others in a team or alone and good eye-hand coordination along with excellent manual dexterity.
Some technical skills are likewise necessary.
